A: No. Like human nails, horse hooves have no pain receptors. So nailing the shoe into the hooves is pain free
Q: Why do we use horseshoes?
A: Horseshoes have many uses, including: avoiding the stress and wear and tear from running on rough surfaces; traction/ improving grip of the ground; and gait support.
